The National Privacy Commission (NPC) issued Circular No. 2022-04 on 5 December 2022 (“Circular”), which sets out the registration framework of Data Protection Officers (DPO) and Data Processing Systems (DPS).
Under the Circular, personal information controllers (PICs) and personal information processors (PIPs) operating in the Philippines are required to register with the NPC as long as they meet any of the conditions for registration.

With this, the organization aims to protect the data of the people working and transacting with the company in accordance with the Data Privacy Act of 2012.
